One of the questions I get asked a lot is:
What are the options for making ready to ship sets as far as sizing is concerned.
SO LET'S GET INTO IT:
For me personally I do 20-24 piece sets with the normal standard sizing 0 to 9. Now petite and kid's sizes are a different kettle of fish.
I know that some press-on designers don't want to put the time into making that many nails or find it wasteful...
HOWEVER for me it helps the nails sell faster and it means that there is a size match for ANYONE who would want the nails so they don't just sit in my inventory, and I make new regular sets once stock has moved.
I DO THE FOLLOWING:
Basic sets of 20[2] of every size
Luxe sets of 24 [1] extra size 3, 4, 5 & 6 (index, middle and ring finger sizes)
CUSTOM SIZING VS REGULAR PREMADE SETS:
However some people may choose to do Custom sizing, which is 16 nails per set. This route would mean that you would have to measure the inside of all your tips and would require your clients to measure their nail beds to find the closest fit for their nails. That means there is work involved in the purchase which creates a "barrier of entry" and makes buying your nails more complicated than just seeing a pretty set and clicking add to cart...that might mean slower sales in exchange for the potential of less work for you.
Notice I say potentially less work... because what if someone who is a size small LOVES a set you made in a size large? Then that means you have to remake it on their size anyway and now you've made 16 nails of the same design...when you could have just made 20 or 24 to start and saved everyone the measuring hassle 😂

NAIL SIZING CHART OR KIT:
With a nail sizing chart, you'd measure your nail tips in all the lengths and shapes I have and put the measurements above the arrows on each nail for each size. With sending out a sizing kit, I'd have to know what shape and length you require, and YOU (the buyer) need to make sure each nail has a snug fit (no major overlapping and no natural nails showing on side walls).

WIDTH VS LENGTH IN BRANDS:
Please keep in mind that a size 0 in one shape & length will likely be a totally different size than a 0 in another shape & length (even within the same brand).

So at the end of the day, there's NO extra work for me making Ready to ship Basic and Luxe sets. Heck, you can even send me a Custom design nail art inspo photo to make you a REUSABLE HANDMADE SALON QUALITY SET.
